Start a RenderΒΆ

Render an image

Press Ctrl+R to start a render. The Render View will pop up and the rendering will be displayed in this view.

From the Render View, press F5 or the Update button to restart the rendering.

Use the progressive mode

In the Render View, press the button to force the progressive mode.

Use the interactive mode

The Interactive Mode updates interactively the rendering as you modify the scene. This is particularly useful to adjust the shaders, the lighting settings or the camera position. The camera position, the lights parameters and position can be updated in real time, and other updates are usually at interactive rate.

In the Render View, press the 'Enable Interactive' button to force the progressive mode.

Render a specific camera

Select the camera and check it as 'Main Camera' in its properties. This makes it the default rendering camera. When none is checked, then the Perspective is the default rendering camera.

It is also possible to connect a camera to a RenderPass. In the camera properties, click the 'Render Passes > Edit' button to link the camera to a specific RenderPass. See also the User Guide/Rendering and User Guide/Rendering/RenderPass sections to know more about RenderPasses and cameras.
